hypnotherapy dorsetThe mind is divided into conscious and subconscious awareness. The conscious mind is analytical therefore it is there to protect us. The subconscious mind controls our physiology such as heart beat, breathing, digestion etc. and it also controls our belief patterns and our learnt and repeated behaviours whether they be good or bad, positive or negative. Hypnotherapy is intended to alter our feelings, thoughts and behaviour in a positive and specific way.  This is achieved by gently talking you into a relaxed, trance like state, similar to day dreaming. This enhances focus and sensitivity allowing suggestion of the beneficial changes you wish to make to be absorbed into your subconscious mind, thereby creating new belief patterns and new behaviour.  Whilst you are pleasantly relaxed (neither asleep or unconscious) there is awareness which enables you to remain in control but there will be changes. What is essential is that you present with the motivation to change. 

I was trained by Helen Breward and specialise in her 'Menopause Relief Programme'. This entails a basic four session programme (additional sessions may be required in some circumstances) for you to learn how to take back control over menopausal symptoms, especially those hot flushes and night sweats that can be so debilitating. Having power over menopausal symptoms IS in your control!
